One of the best-loved Western musicals is coming to Guangzhou. Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music, whose Broadway show spawned a multi-Oscar-winning movie, will be making its seventh stop in the southern province. The original production opened in November 1959 and the show has enjoyed numerous productions since.

Concert

The Eight Eyes Quartet have worked tirelessly over the past 18 years, becoming a highly developed and mature stage presence. They will present a concert featuring famous Chinese folk songs, plus ballads from different provinces.

Exhibition

China's Top Four Schools of Embroidery is being displayed in Guangzhou's South China Club on Ersha Island tomorrow. The event will debut more than 300 works covering the schools of Su (Jiangsu) style, Canton (Guangdong) style, Xiang (Hunan) style and Shu (Sichuan) style, which are rarely seen across the country.

As host exhibitor, Guangzhou will feature several masters in this field of art, including Chen Shaofang, Xu Zhiguang and Liang Guoxing.
